Thanksgiving Week

We had a great Thanksgiving thinking of all the things we have to be grateful for.  My Grandma Thede visited for the week. For FHE we wrote all the things we are thankful for. As soon as we were done I thought of many other things I am thankful for.  Lacey was not very happy that night.  She still looks so sweet when she's all wrapped up and sleeping. On Thanksgiving these two helped me make some cute little drink decorations.  Heidi helped for a couple but Hailey helped until they were all done.  She handed me the feathers for each one and I found it remarkable that no two turkeys ended up with the same pattern of feathers. Brynlee was in heaven because Grammy made this room into a play room and she had it all to herself for most of the day.  She loved carrying the three phones around, one from each play set.  Heidi and Hailey played Yahtzee and Hailey had an awesome game with a score in the high 500's. Lacey didn't eat any real food but ...

A Good Weekend

We hung out at home and had a great weekend. Lacey was cheering on our Cougars and must have done a great job because we killed Savannah State 64-0. The pictures were not turning out that great against the black so I put her on the carpet and got a few better ones.  She is a super cute Cougar fan. I love her big blue eyes. Brynlee sometimes says her arm hurts and this was one of those times.  I washed her hands and then when I used the towel to dry them she said I hurt her arm.  So she was just laying on Cougar and I knew that holding Lacey would make her happy so I let her.  But she still wouldn't use her arm.  Whenever this happens she just doesn't use her arm for a few minutes and then all of a sudden she will say, "My arm all better.  It not hurt anymore."  One time I don't remember anything happening to her arm but she suddenly said that it hurt.  She laid on the floor for a few hours without moving her arm at all until...

Checkups

I took Cougar and Lacey to the doctor for their well child visits on the 21st. Cougar: about 4 1/2 years old 37 lbs. and 41 inches tall, just under average for both Cougar is a smart, healthy boy.  The doctor always remembers who Cougar is.  Cougar loves to tell him anything and everything.  He did great.  He even got his kindergarten shots and didn't cry at all.  I held his arms and legs as they gave him 4 shots.  He looked like he might cry when the first one went in but then he just kept looking at me and no tears or screams or anything came. Brynlee didn't need to get checked but she did get a flu shot.  She limped around for the next day or so and cried for quite a while. Lacey at 2 months 10 days old. 10 lbs. 8 oz. and 22 inches long, about the 20th percentile in both.  The shocking number for her is that her head only measures at the 10th percentile which is really different from her siblings. Lacey is growing fast....

Snow and Hailey's Play

The days after Lacey turned 2 months old it seemed like life went crazy on me.  Lacey started to get pretty grumpy in the afternoon all the way to bedtime.  Holding her was the only way to keep her happy.  She slept really great one night from about 8 until almost 3.  I was excited even though I didn't get any more sleep than I normally do.  I went to bed at 11 thinking she would wake me up within an hour at most.  She didn't, but then Cougar came in at about 1 saying he had an accident so I had to get up for that.  After that night she went back to one 4 hour stretch of sleep and then every 3 hours.  Brynlee woke up screaming one night.  I went in her room and she was laying in her bed with her feet and arms running along the side of the bed as if she was trying to run away from something.  She said there was a cat and was frantic and would not fall back asleep unless I was holding her.  She slept in our bed for a couple nights an...

Home Alone...with 5 kids

Weid left for his competition in Miami for 5 days.  We stayed plenty busy around here. Terri offered to watch the kids for a little bit so I could go to the store all by myself.  It was like heaven!  It was the first time I have been able to do that since Lacey was born.  The weather was great (who would believe it was November?!) so the kids played outside.  In t-shirts. They were having a great time playing with all the helicopters that fall from the trees.  There are a ton of them and they are not so great when they are clogging our drains on the roof. Brynlee was so happy to hold Lacey.  Hailey wanted to be in the pictures too.  Lacey wasn't quite sure what to think of being held by Brynlee. Heidi and Hailey each wanted a turn to hold Lacey.  The kids had been eating Oreos so they have brown around their mouths. Terri took these pictures while she was watching them.  Brynlee was a huge mess from some chocolate. ...
