Family Pictures

We got our pictures back.  I was hoping I would like them more, but they're not my favorite pictures ever taken.  At least we're there together.  All 40 of us, just missing Zach while he's on his mission.  Lacey is usually super easy to get smiling and they didn't get a single picture of her smiling which makes me sad.  It was a freezing 20 degrees and windy that day.  We had a picture taken of our little family while we were waiting for everyone to arrive and it was so cold that Cougar was crying.  We tried again later after he had been wrapped in a blanket for a while and at least he wasn't crying.  I got all the kids and myself ready while Weid had gone to a movie that morning.  I tried trimming the sides of Cougar's hair and then realized it was just super long and ended up cutting all of it.  The background is beautiful, but brrr was it cold that day. She only included one of each pose on the CD, other than ma...

Snow

We got quite a bit of snow during the last week of January. When we got back from my parents' house there was this huge snowman across the street.  The next morning I had the kids stand by it before school.  Weid had watched them use ladders and stuff to build it. These two are so funny together.  They had races pushing their strollers.  Lacey started carrying two babies around all the time. Hailey made this dog out of beads and it looks exactly like Go Go, the dog she got for Christmas.  Lacey wanted me to take a picture of her too.  Hailey got to go to the Museum of Art with her class that day, and our home teacher was her parent helper.  She loved that! Brynlee and Cougar went to the dentist and had no cavities!  There was plenty of crying though.  Cougar did okay for the first set of x-rays but then the ones for the side teeth did not get done.  He continued to scream while they cleaned his teeth, did better while th...

Inside Fun

We had a great week with a fun book group for me which we talked about The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and Heidi started keyboarding at school. Heidi made some muffins from a mix she got for Christmas.  She also got to lunch work that week.  Lacey and Brynlee were goofballs while I was exercising. The kids made a pile on Dad. I took Brynlee to the library and she looked at this book for about an hour after we got home.  She is really good at finding the hidden things. We celebrated my dad's birthday with all the grown ups.  I'm so lucky to have him.  We ate, talked, and played Cranium.  Heidi went to Emma's birthday party at Nickelmania and the kids loved having Kelsey babysit. The next day Grandma and Papa came over to visit and brought these Lego's they had found.  Sunday morning the kids played quietly with them and it was wonderful.  They made a pool with a diving board and other things.  It was fun ...

Our exciting last week of the term

We had a great week in the middle of January including a party to watch the college championship football game, and a 4 day weekend. Cougar loves playing with Taylor.  They separated their hats from their coats and said they were storm troopers.  Cougar doesn't really know what that means except that it's in Star Wars.  Lacey made herself at home in Grandma's freezer.  I opened it to get something and she sat down with her arm draped over the drawer as if she could stay there forever. We had SEP's for Cougar and Hailey.  They are both doing really well in school.  Cougar moved up to a level D in reading.  Mrs. Smith said Hailey is the perfect student and I believe it. I joined a health challenge group to make me want to drink more water and eat more fruits and vegetables.  I started making green smoothies each morning for after my workout and Lacey comes running when she hears the blender.  She grabs a straw and waits for me to s...
