The Weidmans

The end of January was plenty busy.  Those last two weeks seemed to last forever as one by one each of the kids got sick. With no school because of Martin Luther King Day the kids had plenty of time to play.  The snow was almost melted so they took a blanket and had a little picnic.  We also did haircuts for all the kids, except Lacey.  I cut Weid's hair the next week.  Weid played tennis with one of the neighborhood boys and loved it.  The next night I went to a book group that one of the CM wives is a part of and I loved it.  I took Lacey and instead of sleeping she woke up and so she had a late night.  The next night was a Homemaking Express and I took her with me to that as well.  After staying up late the night before she was super grumpy and started screaming after about half an hour so I had to leave early and get her to sleep.  As soon as I fed her she fell fast asleep and was her happy self again the next day after some sle...

It was the end of the term so we had SEP's, Heidi had activity days (which she loves) and there was no school that Friday.  Both the girls are doing really well in school.  Their teachers had no complaints. We watched the National Championship football game with a couple of Weid's students.  During the game there was a loud noise outside so I looked out and saw that this dead tree had fallen.  The owner was supposed to cut it down before it fell.  Luckily no one was out there and we didn't have a shed right there like we will someday. I let Heidi get out her Cra-Z sand and the kids loved it.  But it made a huge mess even though I tried to keep it contained so it will now only be used outside. Lacey was happy to be held by her siblings that week.  Heidi is getting stronger and braver when she holds Lacey and even stood up while holding her. January 11th turned out to be a busy Sunday for us.  Weid was speaking in church, Heidi was singing in Sacrament Meeting with her class, both Weid and I were teaching that day, and Lacey turned 4 months old.  In order for this to work out I really needed Lacey to sleep during Sacrament so that I wouldn't have to get up and leave the other four by themselves.  It all worked out really well. Except then she was awake during my lesson which made it a little more difficult. And Brynlee decided to make that the one Sunday since we moved here to poop in her diaper. They also released my teaching partner that day so I have been teaching the Sunbeams solo with my baby since then.  Which sounds pretty normal except every class is supposed to have 2 teachers and they all do, except me. These kids are growing and changing every day.  It is such a wonderful blessing that I get to stay home and watch it happen. Lacey is getting so strong.  She won't stay on her back for very long anymore but she doesn't really love being on her stomach either.  Mostly she just likes to be held.  I don't remember our other kids rolling over like this so young.  Most of them had huge heads and easily rolled from tummy to back but took quite a while before they rolled from back to tummy. This is how we do Costco.  I try to go when Lacey is taking her nap so that she will sleep and make it just a bit easier for me. But she started waking up when I move her car seat out of the car.  My arms were getting tired so I let Cougar hold her for a minute.  It worked out pretty well.  He loves being a big brother and is happy to hold Lacey for me for a couple minutes.  Or at least until she really starts crying. We spent the first few days of the new year just playing and having fun until school started again on the 5th. Cute Lacey started the new year with a smile. She is a pretty happy baby. We hung out in pajamas and played games with cousins. The Tooles came back so we had another New Year's Party.  The girls enjoyed doing sparklers. We watched some fireworks and were surprised when the last one shot way up in the air. We lit lanterns and watched them float away.  Heidi and Hailey were happy to have the pink one. We popped crackers and happily found our crowns and prizes.  We also played a game with a dice and each of us had 3 dollars (thanks to Jodi).  Depending on what the dice landed on you would either give a dollar to the person to your right, your left, keep your dollars, or put one in the middle.  I was the last one with a dollar and won all the dollars. These kids are so funny!  Every day is a new adventure with them.  Here are some funny things they said over the year 2014 (and up until today) that I kept track of and am glad I wrote them down somewhere.  I wish I had a video camera on my head so I could record the cute things these kids do in our everyday lives.  It's also fun to see how much they have grown and changed over a year since they would not say some of these things now. Heidi is getting older and smarter.  She is very caring and kind.  She is helpful.  She can do anything that she puts her mind to.  She loves to read. *She loves any songs on the radio that she has heard on the bus. *She was calling out to me and said, "Mrs. Hayes, I mean Mom!"  It kind of made me wonder if she ever calls her teacher "mom". *She is really good at jump roping. *She loves to play the copy cat game.  It's pretty funny for a while.
