Thursdays

Our House A while ago, Weid would come home from work every Thursday and mow the lawn. (We do it that day because of our watering situation, I think.) I don't think that he liked it very much because he is always pretty tired when he gets hom e from work. Well, one day I decided to do it for him while he was at work so that it would be a nice surprise when he got home. I enjoyed doing it so much that I have mowed the lawn ever since. It sounds kind of silly, but I really love it. It is my time to myself to just think and relax, and get some muchly needed fresh air. (Who would have ever thought that mowing the lawn would be relaxing?) But it has really worked out well for us. I just put Heidi in her stroller and she watches me, or looks at her books. It takes me about an hour, and Heidi is such a good baby that she just sits there the whole time. It's so crazy to me that growing up, it was always a chore to mow the lawn, and now I look forward to it as if it is such a privilege,...

A fun weekend

On Friday night we went to the local high school football game, Grand Junction High School against Cottonwood High School. Being from Utah, we cheered for Cottonwood and came out victorious! Heidi loved it. She watched the whole thing! Right when we got there she just stared at the players warming up and wouldn't look at anything else for at least ten minutes. We were trying to warm her up for her first BYU game this Saturday. I think she is going to love it! (But maybe not as much as her daddy who has been counting down the days, hours, and even minutes to the start of the football season since their bowl game last December) This past week, Heidi has started standing up on her own quite a bit, and she's taken a few steps. It is incredible to watch her learn and grow! Another fun thing that she's started doing is that when you say "so nice" to her, she'll put her head down on you and give you a hug. The funny thing is that she has started doing it to everythin...

North Carolina

Weid and I were given the opportunity to go to Winston-Salem, North Carolina last week to respresent BYU in an ISP sports marketing event and we had so much fun. It was hard to leave Heidi, but it was just a couple of days. And it was crazy because I never planned on wearing my cheerleading outfit ever again! It was so hot and humid, but the whole event just made me feel young again. Then we went to Salt Lake to Devin Nelson's wedding reception and saw a lot of good friends. We were also able to see Autumn before she leaves on her mission!

We Have a Blog!

Well, we decided it was a good idea, so here we are with our own blog. This last year has been quite a crazy one, but we are so glad for everything that has happened. Grand Junction is great and we are happy we are here. Weid has a job with Shaw Construction, and I stay at home with Heidi. Heidi's first tooth broke through this last week...about 3 weeks before her 1st birthday! You can see it if you look really close.
