Grammy's Halloween Party

The kids were so excited to get their costumes on to go to a party at Grammy's. Cougar was a fireman. Hailey was a butterfly. (She called herself a Candyland Butterfly) Heidi was a flamingo. Brynlee was a ladybug. They each got a turn to parade around the room to show their costume to everyone. We took some group pictures, which was rather difficult to try and get everyone looking and happy.  Grammy even had them play some Halloween Twister.  The girls are a little too small and young for this game I think. Then the kids went outside to carve the big pumpkins.  I helped Hailey and Grammy helped Heidi.  They made some cute, happy jack-o-lanterns.  Brandon made the scary looking one in the middle.  After they did one they wanted to help Grammy carve the others by holding a flashlight so she could see what she was doing.  It was a fun party!

Back to normal

After a few weeks of craziness with Grandmas here and Fall Break, it took a little bit to get into our normal routine again.  The next two weeks went by really quickly. It was really weird to me driving Heidi to school on the 15th when there was no school for the kids who live near us right now (another one of those quirks of a different school district).  Heidi was excited to see her room framed since Daddy and some of his students from school did it.  She was so excited that there were walls!  The roof started and was finished, and the can lights were put in. We got back into our Joy School routine.  We learned about nature and how beautiful it is and took a walk with the viewer that she made.  Hailey was also lucky enough to go to Tyson's house for Joy School and then play at Grammy's after.  She loved it!  She even said it was a special day so we found some clothes that Heidi has grown out of and Hailey had some new clothes to wear on...

Fall Break in St. George

We had a very busy few days with my family.  Since Weid doesn't get those days off of school and because it was Homecoming that weekend, he did not come with us. My parents picked us up in Provo, and then we picked Heidi up from school and headed down to St. George.  We had to make a stop to feed Brynlee.  The kids were so excited when we got there.  They had lots of fun in the condo playing with their cousins. We had a lot of fun at the sand dunes.  It took a few minutes to get used to the sand, but then Heidi had a blast running around everywhere.  It's so fun to go different places and see how beautiful the world is everywhere.  The kids had a lot of fun playing together and being chased by Jared. Even Brynlee put her feet in the sand.  But not Cougar.  He didn't like it one bit.  He had to be held off the sand the whole time until he was put on a blanket.  He is my little neat freak and does not like sand. ...

Conference Weekend

We had a fun weekend watching conference, going to a football game, and hanging out with our grandmas from Florida. My mom was so nice to come and watch the kids with Grandma Thede and Great Grandma Peterson so that I could go to the BYU vs. Utah State game.  Brynlee was all bundled up and ready to go to the game!  It wasn't the best game ever, but we won 6 to 3.  Jamie goes to Utah State and she bought tickets for herself and my dad so they sat in the visitors' section.  I think my dad tried really hard to be a good Utah State fan during the game, but on the walk home he would say "we" and meant it as BYU.  Weid found his way on the field again so me and Brynlee were on our own in the student section, which was fine.  I just love being at the games! Saturday we watched some conference and hung out at my parents' house.  Heidi is a great big sister and loves to read books.  Grandma Peterson made some cookies that even Hailey could have. ...

Three Nanny Goats Gruff

Grandma Thede and Great Grandma Peterson came to visit from Florida. We took them to see the house.  They were starting to put the roof stuff on.  Grandma Thede walked around inside and said it was huge. Brynlee looked pretty cute that day.  She was really good at standing for 6 months old. Heidi's class play was so cute!  Each of the First Grade classes did a different play on different weeks.  Heidi's class did Three Nanny Goats Gruff.  Heidi was a butterfly.  She sang the songs for a long time before we ever saw the play, and now her and Hailey continue to sing the songs even months later.  It was such a cute play.  At the end they said, "Now you've heard Three Nanny Goats Gruff and here is the end of our 'tail'!"  I was so glad I got a picture at the right time, it was so cute!  I also got quite a bit of video of the performance which has been really fun to watch. I am pretty sure we were the only ones there wi...

Picture Day

October 3rd was picture day at Heidi's school. I had to make sure I got a picture of her at home in case it didn't turn out too well like last year where she didn't give a real smile.  This year she smiled great, and it's a good thing because they don't let you look at the picture before you order them here.  She is such a cutie with her great smile and big eyes.  Cougar wanted me to take a picture of him too.  I love this Buzz boy. The weather was so great that we stopped at a park on the way home.  Heritage Park is right off the main road on our way home, so it was perfect.  The kids loved exploring this new park.  The girls loved talking to each other from opposite sides of the park.  We might have failed to get dressed that day.  Oh well. The next night we had our first date in a very long time (even if we had to bring Brynlee along).  It was the CM Alumni and Friends Dinner or something like that.  It was great food, ...

Dance Performance

The last day of dance class, October 1st, they did a performance at the Eldred Center, right next door to the place they had their class. The girls were so excited!  Hailey had the tiniest bun I have ever seen.  They looked so cute in their black and had just a little bit of blush and some lip gloss on.  We got the shirts at the DI since I couldn't find any leotards, and I thought for one performance they would work just great for a dollar each.  The instructions also said to put mascara on them, but they wouldn't let me get near them with it. We got there and the teacher gave them their skirts to use for the performance.  These girls stick together and I just love it!  I asked them to get together for a picture and they held hands and stood there.  So cute.  They sat on the stage watching the other groups until it was their turn to practice on the stage. The dance was so cute!  I have seen it quite a few times through the window...

BYU Football and 6 months old

Heather and Jared had extra tickets for the BYU vs. Hawaii game and couldn't find anyone else to go with them, so we took the family to another game.  The kids were very excited to be able to go with their cousins and with Grammy and Grandpa. Cougar had fun hanging out with the boys.  Brynlee enjoyed hanging out in the Snugli again.  Weid ended up with a field pass and watched the game from his favorite spot.  The stadium looked pretty good with the even/odd white/blue look.  It was a fun night of pizza, family and football.  And with a final score of 47-0 I can't think of any way the night could have been better. The next day at church was the Primary program.  The kids did great even though Heidi couldn't be at the practice since she doesn't get out early on Fridays and we didn't meet as a ward for 3 weeks.  They both said their parts and were so cute.  Hailey was really great at talking in the microphone and said, "Heidi is my sis...

Jamie's Mission Call and Brynlee's First Food

Jamie has been so excited to be a missionary.  She was thrilled when her call came in the mail on September 26th.  She drove down from Logan to open it. She will be going to the Argentina Bahia Blanca Mission and will enter the MTC on February 13th!  We are very excited for her.  Me and Brynlee went to be a part of the excitement. The next day I decided it was time for Brynlee to eat some food for the first time.  So we made up the rice cereal just like the other kids.  She was almost 6 months old.  Weid had a meeting of some kind that night so it was just me manning the camera and the spoon.  I think the pictures say it all.  From the first bite she was not a fan.  Next bite not so much either.  Next bite, hmm...nope. Still don't like it.  Not gonna open for that.  This is not what I want. She was happy when we were done.
