My little buddies

I absolutely love staying home with these cute kids of mine.  Every day is something different, while kind of the same. Cougar was so excited to wear his long sleeve church shirt.  He's such a handsome, charming little boy.  The nursery leaders always say how well behaved he is, and that he's their favorite.  He comes home singing all kinds of songs with his new favorite being If You Chance To Meet a Frown. We started potty training since the girls are in school now.  He really liked getting that first car, but it didn't make him want to do it again.  After a week of him absolutely not caring and crying every morning when I had him sit on the potty we called it quits for a while.  He just wasn't ready.  We'll try again soon. Brynlee is a pretty picky eater, but will usually eat anything if I'm eating it.  She loves to drink my green smoothie! It was a beautiful middle of September day.  I love when it's raining but still...

Heidi's Hello Kitty Party

Heidi had told me for a long time that she was going to have a rainbow party, and then the Monday before her party she decided that she really wanted a Hello Kitty party instead.  Good thing I didn't have anything done for the party before that. We printed some invitations and took them around to her friends.  We had fun getting everything ready for the party, including making the cake and cookies, putting up party streamers and making the goodie bags.  I was lucky to find a cute cookie cutter and the bags at Walmart.  I guess lots of girls like Hello Kitty. We played a version of their favorite game and called it Don't Eat Kitty. The girls decorated their bows as we were waiting for everyone to arrive.  Then we played Pin the Bow on Hello Kitty.  Some of them did a better job of obeying the rules of the game.  Hailey thought she was funny and put her bow in the corner of the room. The girls got to decorate and eat their own Hello ...

Green Ribbon Week

Green ribbon week was so fun for these girls, dressing a certain way each day and learning ways to be safe. On Tuesday they got to dress in as much green as they could.  They even wanted green socks and green bows in their hair. I don't know what happened, but Heidi did not want the little kids in the picture.  Brynlee wants to be just like the big girls and take a picture by the wall with them. The next day was crazy hair day.  Heidi wanted her hair sticking really far out on both sides and the back.  Hailey wanted the cup in the hair so I found a baby bottle lid that worked well since her hair isn't that long. They were so excited to go see if anyone else did their hair crazy. That day we went to the doctor for Heidi and Cougar's check ups, gymnastics, and then came home and did Heidi's homework which was a cover for her journal.  She cut out all kinds of things she liked from magazines including cookies, milk, cereal, Dora, Bubble Guppies...

Heidi turned 7

I can't believe we have a 7 year old.  She is such a sweet, happy girl and we are so glad that she is part of our family. Heidi was so glad to wear another dress that she had never worn before for her birthday.  She's such a cute girl.  I just love her smile, and am wondering when she'll lose her first tooth.  They're all pretty firm in there as of right now. The day before, Weid took the kids to Home Depot to build these toss games while I went to the temple.  It was the first time in a while (like since I was pregnant with Cougar) that I did initiatories, and it was a wonderful experience. Heidi loved all her presents from her siblings.  Hailey gave her a new jump rope since her one that she got for Sister's Day was cut up and thrown away for hitting Hailey for like the third time in one day.  Brynlee gave her a fun bead set to make some bracelets.  Cougar gave her a microphone.  We gave her some bright blue nail polish and a L...

First Home Game: BYU vs. Texas

We were beyond excited for the beginning of football season, but even more excited to be able to go to the games again. These kids were happy too.  They just love BYU!  Hailey always cheers for the blue team, no matter who is playing.  Heidi started off not wanting to take pictures, but then after watching Brynlee stand up and go to her dad after every picture and then come and sit down again, she couldn't hold the smiles in any longer. I just love them. *Note to self: next time when taking pictures in front of the glass fireplace, clean off the glass first. I drove the older 3 over to my parents' house so they could watch the game with them and got Brynlee all set to go to the game.  I normally head over with just enough time to get there for kick-off but this year since they changed the way all sport passes work we had to do it differently.  It's first come, first serve.  I left so I could get there an hour early so Justin could go down on ...

Busy School Weeks

Justin started teaching a new semester, and with 2 kids in school and still doing dance and gymnastics, along with the start of football season has made us a pretty busy family.  Our home teacher was able to give Justin a priesthood blessing the weekend before BYU started up again when he came home teaching.  It's nice to have a home teacher who comes and cares about our family. The girls still love their dance class.  I think Brynlee wants to go in there and join them.  I'll have to remember to bring out some ribbons and put on music at the house so she can dance with them. Hailey has been asking for a long time if she could wear this play dress and since I had just brought it out of a box she wanted to wear it.  She can't help but pose.  She really does talk and act like a character out of a Disney movie with everything being so wonderful and exciting. This little goofball is so funny.  This was the first time she would hold the banana a...

Labor Day

We had a fun Labor Day with the girls out of school.  Weid went golfing in the morning with the men in my family and then we met up at my parents' house for our birthday celebration.  This time we were celebrating Heidi's birthday. The kids had so much fun playing in the backyard as soon as they got there, it helps that Grandpa was there to play with them.  Even Brynlee took off and had a blast in such a beautiful green place. We ate dinner and said things we like about Heidi and then sang to her and ate cake.  I made this cake and it was really good, but a little rich for the kids.  That's okay.  I ate like the whole thing the next day with lots of milk and it was delicious.  Heidi picked out this Ariel costume at Costco while my mom was watching the kids over the previous weekend for her birthday present. We then headed to the Highland Glen Park to feed some bread to the ducks.  I think they weren't exactly hungry because it was slo...

August iPad pictures

I only took a couple pictures with the iPad in August.   Brynlee does some of the cutest things, including laying down to watch a show. Cougar did this for a couple weeks.  Every time he would find his dad's socks he would put them on his hands and then sing some made up song about him being a sock man.  It was hilarious!
