The Weidmans

We had a fun week celebrating Heidi's hard work, reading, and helping Lacey clean up her messes. Hap really wanted some of my smoothie and I learned that he is pretty good at drinking through a straw. He really liked the green smoothie. I took the little kids to the library and Lacey picked only one book and it was quite fitting for her. She is Little Miss Trouble. Heidi worked hard all year (and especially hard near the end doing extra projects) to qualify for Honor Roll. They had a dinner and gave them their award. Hap came with us. She said it was worth all the extra effort and we're really proud of her making a goal and achieving it. Weid had a meeting for tennis since he'll be assistant coach again this year. I had book group where we talked about The Language of Flowers. I liked the book and we had a pretty good discussion about it. I had a great Mother's Day this year, relaxing at home. For the first time, the kids did all the cooking for my breakfast in bed.  Heidi made muffins and eggs and Hailey cut up fruit. I got my annual picture of me with all of my kids which is all I wanted. Then I was surprised with nice gifts, including a Bosch! They also made me some nice cards. Hailey's told me that she loves me even though I won't get her a puppy. I love being a mother to these children.

The kids had their last soccer games. Hailey's team had everyone there again so they got another group photo, but it was after they lost so the coach's daughter really didn't want to smile. Hailey took money for the book fair and bought each of her siblings something. She felt like she was getting a great deal because everything was buy one get one free, and it made me proud of what a sweet girl she is to spend her own money on others. Cougar had team pictures and then just moved the team over to another place so we could all take pictures if we wanted. He really improved this season. He ended up being a great defender and stopped many balls from going by him. Hap had his follow-up appointment with the hospital, and all looks great after his surgery. He loves to watch games from the comfort of his stroller. We met Cougar at the Mapleton City Park. He went with the first grade to the Bean Museum and then we met them at the park where they ate lunch and played at the playg...

Hap is still a mostly pleasant boy, with big smiles given to anyone who smiles his way. He is getting bigger and weighs about 18 1/2 lbs. He hates baby food. He doesn't cry very often, but if I put baby food in his mouth that's exactly what he does. He only wants to eat chunks of food, and only by my fingers because he refuses to open his mouth for a fork or spoon. He still likes his car seat and never cries as we drive everyone around to their activities. Hap still nurses about every 3 hours around the clock. He takes one really long nap each day and sleeps about 9 or 10 hours each night, waking every 3 hours to eat. He likes taking a bath, as you can see from the one he had that morning. Hap loves to eat his hands and play with his feet. His toes are often doing funny things. I love how he sits with his ankles crossed and how he scrunches up his nose. He was having a rough time when I tried to take his pictures. I gave him the number 8 to play with, and it kind of helped. La...
