The Weidmans

We worked on Cougar's car a little bit each day.  By Thursday it was all done and ready for the Kindy Indy the next day. Cougar has always had an eye for cars.  He had ideas about what his car would look like and he was very particular about what he wanted.  He wanted a blue car, so I spray painted the box blue.  He wanted black wheels with gray inside.  But not the black of construction paper because that isn't dark enough.  Luckily I had some black spray paint so we painted those too.  He wanted circle yellow lights in the front.  He wanted red lights in the back in this shape (whatever shape those are) with two lines all the way across.  He made his own license plate just how he wanted it.  He wanted a steering wheel that could move.  He wanted the little Y's right there and nowhere else.  It ended up perfect because he loves it! He looked great in his Kindy Indy car. We stayed to watch the parade of cars go by....

 After counting down to her birthday, the week was finally here. Heidi surprised us all by being the 5th fastest typist in the 4th grade.  She got a candy bar for being in the top 10.  They had ten weeks of a keyboarding class, with 30 minutes of practicing for homework each week.  I made sure she got her time in, and before we knew it she was pretty good.  Especially since she started with not knowing how to type at all.  She is a great girl and is naturally good at just about everything when she puts in the effort. The kids did tricks with Dad.  Even Lacey got a turn this time.  She loved it.  I dressed her in some BYU clothes to support our team, but unfortunately they lost to Valparaiso in the NIT Semifinals. The first half was terrible and we ended it down by 14.  The second half was a great game and fun to watch but we lost by 2. We had a few egg hunts that weekend.  The first was the one with our ward. Brynlee looked so cute in her bunny ears and "new" jacket that's been hanging in her closet for a couple years but was too big until now.  It was cold that morning.  It had snowed overnight and there was still snow where there was shade.  The kids lined up and then went out to find their eggs when their age was called.  I looked out there and our wonderful home teacher was out there helping Brynlee this year, just like he helped another one of our kids last year. The kids found their dozen eggs and then headed out to the playground to be with their friends.  Lacey was happy to hold Brynlee's basket.  The older girls were so quick I didn't even get a picture of them. We ate lunch and finished decorating my Easter cupcakes and then headed to Grammy's egg hunt.  They all eventually found their eggs after running around the yard a few times. Lacey's a little yo...

We started the week off having the old and new presidencies in CM and FM over for dinner with their spouses.  18 of them in all. The kids love when the students come for dinner.  Brynlee kept asking all day long when the students would be there.  We had a great Cafe Rio-like meal since that's what was requested.  I love having the students over too because they eat a lot and compliment it many times.  We shared our family home evening with them and I think it was a good experience for all involved.  Brynlee was our leader and chose "that guy I was sitting next to" to say our opening prayer. This might be my favorite part of the day.  We read scriptures and have our family prayer and then the kids get bedtime books.  I think I have taught them well and they all love books. Cougar's homework that week was to do a report on an oviparous animal.  He chose a chameleon and wanted to do the kind that lays a whole bunch of eggs at once....
