The Weidmans

We went to the movie, Paddington 2, and then went to Heather's to let the kids play. Hap loved playing with so many different toys and the older kids enjoyed playing on the Wii. They even tried Wii Tennis and had a lot of fun. Lacey loves to share with Hap. Our neighbors, the Folsoms, gave us some clothing and other stuff, including this new hanging chair that the kids have decided is a great place to read. Brynlee made this family tree a few months ago and it's been on our bulletin board because I love it. The kids spent lots of time playing together and beading. Heidi and Hailey went with their dad to the orthodontist. Heidi doesn't need anything right now, but Hailey needs to get started because she needs an expander and has a crossbite. The library had their end of summer party at the splash pad so we went. Brynlee stuck her head under many times, the older kids were so fast I hardly saw them, Lacey was everywhere, and Hap walked up and down the river several times bef...

Since the actual holiday was on a Tuesday this year, we once again celebrated the Saturday before. We started with the annual neighborhood breakfast and parade. The kids decorated their bikes and I even remembered to bring extra scissors and tape, which were very useful. Lacey wanted to go the whole way around the parade route but I convinced her to just come back with me as the pack started getting farther away by the second. Hap made a mess with his yogurt again. That night I took the kids to the big party in Mapleton. Weid was still recovering and wanted to rest so we left him at home. He didn't even get to play tennis like he usually does. The weather has always been beautiful and bordering on hot. This year it was a little cooler with no sun. It gets more and more packed every year so this time we were way at the back, right by the bathrooms. Right after Weid's surgery he had to stay in bed and not do much so his five 1-inch incisions would heal. With six kids it's kind of hard to keep them quiet in the house so I took them several places. Hap loves helping put the kids to bed, especially when he throws all of Cougar's footballs off his bed. Lacey is always finding somewhere exciting to be. They redid Child Park and the kids have been asking to go there every time we drive by, so I finally took them. They loved it; playing at a new park, marking new friends, and throwing a ball around. Until Lacey was walking on the border and stepped in a big hornet's nest and got stung. We watched Ferdinand in the theater, ate a picnic lunch where we watched a tiny mouse run around, and then went to The Museum of Natural Curiosity.
