4th of July Festivities

We started off celebrating the 4th of July with the cul-de-sac of fire on the 1st.  It was fun, with lots of fireworks and food. The girls even got their nails done which they were pretty excited about.  Brynlee nibbled on some licorice for a minute and Cougar sat on my lap when the fireworks started so I could plug his ears. Hailey enjoyed her seat on the front row.  She especially like the aerial fireworks.  On a not so happy note we were asked by the people that we lived next door to there if we had moved yet.  Yes, yes we did.  5 months ago!  The week before we had walked around the neighborhood when Soko's family was watching our kids and another neighbor also asked if we had moved yet on that night.  At least she had some excuse because I had just seen her at Costco a few days before, but the other neighbor had not seen us for 5 months at church or anywhere and didn't know we had moved.  Craziness. On the 3rd the kids...

End of June

I was so glad that Heidi started to feel like herself again.  We went to the library on Wednesday that week for the story time.  It was all about rocks and was pretty entertaining, with a rock concert where they played different songs that had the word rock in them. The favorites were We Will Rock You and Party Rock.  Hailey especially liked the green noodles that they said were stalagmites and stalactites.  Cougar named his new rock Rocky and he tried to see if this time he would like an Otter Pop but realized that he still didn't.  So I fed it to Brynlee and I am not quite sure how much she liked it.  But she did come back for more so I think she liked it. The kids are really proud of their new rocks.  Cougar didn't want to paint his but the girls had a lot of fun painting theirs. It was pretty hot that day so we went home to enjoy our homemade popsicles from the leftover watermelon slush from the day before.  Heidi and Hailey were ...

Head injuries

Monday the 24th started out like any other day, with the kids playing and getting ready.  Then Heidi fell off the counter stool.  She leaned back where there was no back and fell on her head on the hard floor.  She looked a little confused for a minute, and I helped her up and asked if she was okay.  She was no longer hungry and wanted to lay down.  I let her sleep for a while because I assumed that she had just woken up earlier than I thought and was tired.  There was a wet spot on the couch where her head had been laying.  I also found a little pile of spit on the way to the bathroom, and then another place on the couch where she had moved to.  I started to get a little worried and it was time to go to dance so I asked if she wanted to that day.  She didn't want to at all and that worried me even more.  We got in the car to take Hailey to dance and Heidi needed a bowl to throw up in, so that was at least 5 times of throwing up spit-li...

Visitors and a baby blessing

We had a fairly busy weekend. I had cut the girls' hair the night before and they were happy to pose and show it off.  Hailey's hair is very thin and stays flat when slept on like this was, but Heidi's has a bit more volume and doesn't look as good after being slept on (it is actually very even and looks good).  Their hair looks a lot healthier after their hair cuts. Brynlee was standing in the middle of the hall and I told the other kids to stand by her and they kept making these silly poses. Cougar did his first project at Lowe's.  He was happy to have his own kit and hammer. The Riverwoods had a fun circus day and we got there right when it started and the kids got to jump as long as they wanted in this bounce house. Cougar had a nice buddy (Shintaro) to help him.  There was also a huge slide but it was too hot and they only did it once.  The girls tried to knock the milk jugs over but couldn't quite do it. There were lots of games to...
