Christmas Break: Before Christmas

We had a lot of fun over Christmas break, mostly just hanging out with family. We went to see Santa at the library on our way to play with some cousins.  Hailey was excited to hop on his lap and tell him that she wanted a Puppy Surprise.  Brynlee eagerly hopped up next and said that she wanted a Minnie Mouse light.  Heidi still hadn't decided what she really wanted but knew that her time was about up and so she told him that she wanted an Elsa castle. Lacey sat on his lap and didn't even cry.  Cougar refused to sit on his lap or even get near him to tell him what he wanted. Lacey was a really happy girl waiting in line.  She stayed on Santa's lap for a minute while we were trying to talk Cougar into telling Santa what he wanted for Christmas (which was Planes Fire and Rescue: Turbo Blastin' Dusty).  She just sat there a looked super cute.  I was a little nervous she would scream since she didn't exactly like seeing him at the Museum of Art ear...

Last Week of School in 2014

We were getting pretty close to Christmas and had lots of fun things to do. We ended up going to a last-minute dinner with friends from Virginia (who now mostly live here in Utah) since Sara was going into the MTC that week.  I can't believe she is old enough to be a missionary!  It feels like it wasn't that long ago that she was babysitting our kids.  Except now we have 2 more kids.  Time flies!  That day we also had a special Stake Conference.  One of the speakers brought up how it says in a movie how Christmas is a feeling and that we should try to make it last all year.  This reminded me of how it says that in Christmas Eve on Sesame Street so I had the kids watch that movie and they loved it. The snow was beginning to melt so we got outside and made a snowman like I promised the kids we would.  Actually I promised that we would make 2 and Brynlee keeps saying that next time it snows we will make 3 snowmen.  The snow up top of th...

Vawdrey Family Pictures

On December 13th we had family pictures with everyone from my side of the family.  Julia got it all worked out and found a day that worked for everyone so that this would be our gift to our parents this year.  The girls were a little sad because it ended up being at the same time as their Candy Cane Classic, but since we scheduled it a long time ago there wasn't anything I could do about it.  My mom chose the cream/brown color palette so I searched through all our clothes to find some for everyone.  Weid ended up borrowing a sweater from his dad and said that his transformation into Brent is complete. :)  I bought my shirt the night before.  I found Cougar's shirt in a bag of hand-me-downs.  I tried to find a brown onesie at the store but they didn't have any so I ended up looking in our storage bins for some clothes for Lacey that were a little big but ended up working fine.  It all ended up working great and I'm pretty happy with the pictures t...

Blue Ribbon Week and 3 months old

The second week of December flew by. The girls had their last gymnastics class of the year.  Brynlee was asleep and I had to feed Lacey so we just stayed in the car that time. Cougar played on the iPad.  It was fun because we got to see the girls on the trampoline, which we usually can't see from where we sit inside.  And on the way home that night I-15 had changed to be 70 mph, which made the drive just a little bit shorter. I had been looking for this bouncer for a while and thought that maybe we didn't bring it with us from Virginia.  But we found the piece that attaches to it and I didn't think we would have kept that without the chair.  I remembered that I might have hid the chair a few years ago when we were living in Provo when everyone was coming for Christmas.  And I found it in the back of the storage room there.  Yay for one more thing that might just keep Lacey happy.  Brynlee is nice enough to let her baby sit in the ch...
