Brynlee's Preschool Graduation

The other kids were done with school for a full four weeks by the time for Brynlee's graduation came. We had to make her a chart to put stickers on so she would still be excited to do her preschool for that last month. She was counting down the days until her "gradulation" and was so excited when the day was finally here. I took her to the Provo Marriott where they gave her a test on the computer to see how much she has learned over the last 10 months of doing Upstart. I got the results in the mail the other day but they were in Spanish so I have no idea how she did (I called and they should be sending English ones soon). She loved graduation and looked so cute with her cap on. We went out to lunch to celebrate her doing such a good job. When we got home she wanted to have her first reading lesson right away.

Busy June

My calendar for June was pretty packed. Lacey started the week off sick, sleeping for most of the day. The girls started tennis lessons in the mornings. The other kids didn't mind it because they got to play at the park. We had coach pitch and kickball games. I finally took my own pictures of Cougar as a Cardinal. He was smiling until his dad told him he needed to have a game face on. Brynlee is so fun to watch kick the ball and run the bases. She is always telling the person on the base in front of her to run. The kids play at the playground there but there isn't much to do so Heidi does pull ups. Heidi and Hailey had gymnastics on different days as there were no times available that both of their levels had class. Brynlee had her final week of doing online preschool. The oldest 3 had piano lessons and practice. We did story time at the library. The little kids learned about million dollar art, drew self portraits, and made paint palettes out of oatmeal cookies. The older kid...

Father's Day

We had a great day at home celebrating Father's Day. The kids helped make breakfast in bed. Weid looked so handsome ready for church with his new blue suit. A guy in our ward had a suit similar in color and I leaned over to him in church and told him that's what he needed (kind of jokingly because it's a bright blue) and he liked the idea and went out and bought one. I'm glad he did because I love it. Getting all the kids looking, smiling, not tucking in shirts, and staying in the picture was a little difficult. He is a great dad to these six kids. They love to throw and kick balls around in the backyard with him. He is great at teaching them how to work in and around the house, always having them help with the project he has in mind each Saturday. He made up some "rules" years ago for Father's Day, and the kids laugh as he reads them each year. One of the rules is that you give a present that is bigger than you. Heidi was happy to comply with that rule t...

Middle of June

We had a fairly busy week around here. It was the second week of our summer chore charts and the kids did great. I put pictures on Brynlee's since she can't read yet. The only other difference on hers is she has preschool instead of practice piano. We had the Smiths over for dinner that night. The last time I had seen them was when they had us over for the Super Bowl when I was pregnant with Cougar, so it had been a while. Cougar gave the scripture in primary and Heidi gave the prayer and both did a great job. The little kids learned about a million tall tales at the library and the older kids did karate where they broke these boards. Cougar had another ball game with pictures before. We got the pictures back about a week later and I couldn't believe how strange they were of Cougar. It's almost as if they tried to get his eyes semi-closed or something. There were birds all over that day, and I felt like I got a pretty good picture of one right over Cougar as he was on ...
