The Weidmans

We had a fun week watching basketball and playing inside and outside. I made bread for the first time in a while and it was really good.  If I buttered the tops of my bread they would look better in the picture but I like to just leave them alone.  Cougar came home from school that day having learned about bread and how yeast makes it rise.  Quite the coincidence. Jamie said she was in the area and stopped by for a while.  She played games with the kids.  They played several rounds of Uno, Chutes and Ladders, and Sorry.  We are so glad she stopped by. These pictures make me laugh.  Cougar was helping Brynlee after he had already gone out.  She put down a card and then said she had several others of that color.  Cougar told her she wasn't supposed to say what cards she had so she covered her mouth with her cards and looked at Jamie with her big eyes. The kids started their yearly It Pays to Read event for school and have been reading nonstop so they can have the chance to win cool prizes.  They get to turn in a card for every 100 minutes they read and Hailey turns one in just about every day. The school kids got to go to Dads and Donuts.  Their dad let them each pick a book.  Cougar picked this Paw Patrol book with flaps.  Hailey picked a book about the underground railroad with a dog that helped.  Heidi picked an Alvin and the Chipmunks book. Brynlee decided to try peanut butter and honey sandwiches (instead of just peanut butter) and learned that she really likes them.  The kids did lots of bead projects that week as you can see on the table.  The girls started jump club that day and love it.  We ate something quick and then headed back to the school for Heidi's SEP's where she showed us how great she is at math, reading, and grammar.  Dad met us there for a minute and then we ...

The end of February was filled with fun and good weather.  We visited with family several times before they leave the state again.  We learned that they matched in Ohio and will be there for the next 4 years.  The kids loved playing with and watching Maielle.  Lacey learned how to go down their stairs super fast.  She turns around and then pushes herself down with her arms until she reaches the bottom.  It is pretty funny to watch.  I had a girls' night tea party which was fun.  The herbal tea smelled great but tasted gross.  I thought I was over my sickness but I developed a cough that was so bad at night that I couldn't sleep and I spent those nights on the couch.  That lasted a few nights and then I just had a random cough for the rest of the week.  I was very glad when that was over. I got whatever Hailey had and it was awful.  Sunday night I started to feel a little sick and by Monday morning I couldn't do anything other than just lay there.  I had a fever, chills, lost my voice, and had a cough.  Luckily it was a holiday so Weid was staying home anyways and took care of everything that day.  I got a little better each day, not really feeling like myself until Saturday.  I was able to drive the girls to gymnastics on Wednesday but then I put a movie on in the car for the other kids to watch because I couldn't even go inside and sit. Cougar woke up looking like this on Tuesday.  He also had some on the tops of his feet and around his ankles.  I took some quick phone pictures to send to Jodi to get her professional nurse's opinion of if I should take him to the doctor or not.  She said it most likely looked like hives and to try some Benadryl.  I gave him some and had him stay home from school.  Within a few hour...

The school kids all ended up sick and Weid was gone all week, mostly in Reno with his competition teams for the week.  Heidi didn't feel well and missed school Monday.  Hailey called soon after lunch to say her tummy didn't feel well and so we picked her up as well. Weid went golfing with his dad and brother in Mesquite the beginning of the week. Lacey loves her newfound freedom from being able to open all the cupboard doors. Cougar had his hundredth day of school.  I love his picture of himself when he's one hundred years old.  He will have glasses and will be wearing a BYU shirt.  Although all the kids went to school that day, Cougar started to feel sick and slept all day.  And then all night.  He woke up Wednesday saying that he felt great.   Hailey did not.  She started throwing up and stayed home Wednesday and Thursday, just laying on the couch and drinking some gatorade.
