One Month

Lacey turned one month old.  She started sleeping for one longer stretch at night for about 4 hours.  But since I am awake for most of that part the longest sleep together that I have had to this point is 2 1/2 hours.  Thankfully she goes right back to sleep after each night feeding until some time between 6 and 8 in the morning.  She has been growing quite a bit and is filling out her newborn clothes.  She weighed 8 1/2 pounds on our home scale.  Our tiny baby is growing so fast! One month old I feel like each time I look at Lacey she looks like a different one of our other kids.  Here with her wrinkled up forehead she looks like Hailey. That day I finally finished putting her clothes in her drawers and closet and got her bedding in her crib.  She still doesn't sleep there but it's ready for when she will.  Her room is pretty plain and that's okay with me.  I figure she is just going to sleep there and doesn't need anythi...

School Carnival and BYU Football

Each year the girls' school has a carnival as their PTA fundraiser.  I think it's great.  The kids love it and everyone has fun while raising money.  We even decided that they could skip their gymnastics class that week to go to it. The 3 kids stuck together and that made it very nice for me.  Brynlee stayed by me and watched the older kids and Lacey slept for quite a while in her car seat in the stroller. They waited in line for quite a while for this one.  Only one person can go at a time so it takes a while but they wanted to do it. They all loved it!  The top goes up and raises them up and then it deflates and brings them down.  I asked them if they were strapped in or anything but they weren't. These 3 had gone on all the big blow up rides and were having a blast! I had bought some extra tickets because I knew they would want snow cones and things.  I was glad I had because they had Elsa and Anna there and you had t...

Conference Weekend

Conference weekend was very relaxing and also spiritually and physically rejuvenating.  It was so great to have nowhere to go and nothing to do except listen to the leaders of our church.  Heidi and Hailey had piano right before the first session, but that was all. It makes me happy to see these kids play together.  Hailey loved having Zach in her kindergarten class.  Heidi and Hailey often go over to ask if the boys can play since they live just across the street.  They are so sweet when they play together.  They show their cool tricks on their skateboard and bikes and the girls are happy to just watch, admire, and even try the tricks themselves.   These two are so silly and such good friends.  Brynlee had decided that she was done eating until Cougar helped her. Sunday morning we got the kids ready and then watched as a whole family.  They were really good and are getting much better at hearing the words on their Bin...

October

I don't know why I never think of October as being a busy time of year, but it seems that this year it was pretty packed.  We started off the month with school pictures, the CM Alumni dinner, and the BYU vs. USU football game. The first was school picture day.  Their hair wasn't exactly how I wanted it since we ended up going to Grandma and Papa's the night before to eat with some people from Austria, but they looked pretty cute.  I'm glad that I took these pictures because I noticed that even though Heidi brushed her teeth she still had corn in the cob in them so I helped her get that out.  They smiled really well in their pictures and they came back really cute. Lacey's cord had fallen out over the weekend so she got her very first real bath.  She didn't like it at first but got used to it and was fine after the first little bit.  Then I think she was happy to be out and all clean. I put her in a warm sleeper because she was pretty cold....

End of September

The end of September was pretty great.  Lacey went to church for the first time and it was the primary program.  We were pretty well adjusted to our bigger family by that time. As soon as Brent and Terri left our house I remembered that we had agreed to go to Color Me Mine that afternoon to use our Groupon that was going to expire. So we got changed and picked Terri up and went.  The kids loved it!  Cougar had a hard time finding something that he wanted to paint that wasn't ginormous, but we eventually got everyone with a project and some paint.  Or I should say that Terri did because I was feeding Lacey.  Hailey made quick work of hers and was almost done by the time everyone else had paint.  Brynlee looked so cute painting little strips of color on her plate.  Hailey painted a unicorn bank and Heidi painted a piggy bank. We realized that we should have taken the plate away from Brynlee when it looked really cute, or at least turned it ...

Heidi's Baptism and Lacey's Blessing

Heidi's Baptism date was set for September 27th.  I wasn't sure how that was going to work out being due on the 29th but it ended up working out really well.  We just decided to do a baptism and blessing together while family was there since Lacey came early.  I had known for a while that I wanted to sew Heidi's baptism dress.  But I am a procrastinator and didn't do it when I was thinking about it in the months prior to the baptism.  I looked for some at Swiss Days, along with some blessing dresses but they were much too expensive to even think about getting them.  So the Sunday before the baptism I knew that I would have to sew a baptism and blessing dress that week.  I took some of my mom's patterns to help me make the dresses.  I was kind of glad because then I could make them kind of matching and I liked that idea.  I was confirmed the same day that my youngest sister was blessed and I still remember that day.  So that Monday I wen...
