Memorial Day Weekend

Hap loves to have his hair combed on church days. We were taught a lesson by Joce and her companion. It got kind of cold so I had to turn on the heater again. I printed out my grandparents' family trees. It was fun to see so many of them in the Draper Cemetery; I am glad we made the trip up there. I found the names on the online map beforehand, which made it really easy to find the headstones. I tried to sign Heidi up for cheer but it has been canceled for the year, even though all the other fall sports are planning to go ahead (like football that they cheer for). I called the city and they said it's because the program is going to be taken over by the high school cheer program but with Covid they didn't get to do that so they just canceled it, but they plan to have it next year. The kids decorated the driveway. We stopped by the AF Cemetery to find some other relatives. We had made some festive cupcakes to celebrate the birthdays that have happened since we last got togeth...

Last Week of School

We finished our last week of distance learning. I think everyone was relieved to be done with it. Lacey did her final evaluation for preschool. She was reading easy made-up words and then a few seconds later it was asking her to read big, difficult words. She has learned a lot this year and I'm proud of how consistent she was in doing it, even though she didn't want to do it some days unless she could have an oatmeal creme pie when she was done. We painted nails. Brynlee was always done with school very quickly so she read the blog books. She started in the year she was born and loved reading about what she did as a baby. She also had lots of time to work on her trampoline tricks. The students truly become Weid's friends and we're glad when they stop by if they're in town. Hailey did a virtual talent show.
