We had such a fun weekend. It was nice to have a few days with our family being together again and having a few days of not driving Heidi to and from school.
Heidi had her first ever play date. I got a note in her backpack one day that week asking if she could go to Brianne's house (from her mom) with a number to call to confirm. She had a blast! She makes friends so easily. When we went to pick her up she was able to go out and feed a carrot to the horse with Hailey. I actually ended up feeding them to the horse because they got scared as soon as it came over but they still enjoyed it. And Heidi surprised us by having this paper in her bag informing us that she was the Student of the Week for her class that week, otherwise we might never have known. It was the first full week of school and the first week of choosing Students of the Week. We are so proud of her for being such a wonderful girl in school and at home! The girls built some goal posts at Home Depot because they love football! They are very good at playing catch, yelling "Touchdown!" and "Go Cougars!", and asking what color we are cheering for in each game. One of the head helpers at the workshop saw that they had a lot of badges on their aprons and gave them a special apron for having more than 10. They felt pretty special!
Brynlee had not been sleeping too well since getting back from camping. Friday night after a feeding around 4 am I wrapped her up and left her on the floor in the corner of the family room. When we came out in the morning she was fully unwrapped and on her tummy. That is the most she has ever tried to move around. Later in the day we went to a lady in our ward's 100th birthday party. It was pretty neat to see someone that was 100 years old. Then me, my mom, Heather and Brynlee went to Swiss Days. We walked around to all the tents in the main part and I was the only one that bought anything and all I bought was a I-Spy bag. When we got our food and sat down to eat when I thought one of the singers looked familiar. I had looked at the program beforehand so I knew that the group up was called Joshua Creek. My mom asked me if I ever had Mr. Hinton and I was shocked. There he was on stage! Yes, I had him! He was my teacher all 3 years of Jr. High for math (7th) and then French (8th and 9th). It was so crazy to see him up there.
That Monday the boys went golfing as usual and then we headed over for a Barbeque. Brynlee wore her cute Hokie outfit since they were playing that day. The kids had a blast jumping on the tramp and Cougar found that he loves Cheetos.
We did the limbo. After 4 kids I am not as good as I once was, but it was still fun. The girls had fun even though they didn't have to bend very far. Even my dad and Curtis gave it a try.
We played with water balloons and the girls had a lot of fun until one popped on Hailey. She didn't think it was that fun after that. We had a contest between us and Curtis and Julia. The boys held the babies. We ended up losing the first one so we made it 2 out of 3 or something and I think we won. One balloon broke all over me, and I showed Hailey that it was ok to get wet.
Heidi opened her presents from the family. She makes the funniest face with her tongue sticking out when she sees something she thinks is delicious. She got lots of bracelets, and then a fun activity kit and a soccer ball from Curtis and Julia. She already got her presents from Grammy and Grandpa at her birthday lunch.
Heidi loves rainbows! She draws them on everything! So I decided to make her a rainbow cake to celebrate her birthday with the family. It turned out pretty cute, but the colors in the cake didn't mix when they baked like I hoped they would. I still love how they turned out though. What a fun and busy weekend we had.
