1st Grade!

I can't believe Heidi is in 1st Grade! School started on August 21st.  Since Grammy was going to be out of town on Heidi's birthday, she took her out for her birthday lunch the day before school started.  She even got to go pick what she wanted at the store.  She got new princess shoes, hair clips, a coloring book and crayons, and the best part was lunch with just Grammy! After her lunch we got to go to her school and see her classroom, sit in her desk, and meet her teacher.  She was so excited!  Her teacher is Miss Johnson. Heidi's first day of school went great!  We can't find her backpack, it must have been placed in a box that isn't here at the house so she is using one of Grandma's for a while.  I'm glad that she was already doing all day kindergarten so that part isn't any different for her.  She loves her teacher and her new school.  (She had better love that school because it takes 25 minutes on a good day, each way....

Camping and Family Reunion

August 17-18 was our ward campout. We learned that there couldn't be any fires, so we grabbed some Little Caesar's and headed up the mountain.  Going that direction, we took a look at the progress on our house too.  Hailey had one of her favorite foods too: soy yogurt. There weren't too many people there when we got there.  They kids couldn't help themselves from climbing on this horse.  Heidi even swung from a rope and had a lot of fun until one time she fell and got a little scrape on her hand. After setting up the tent, Hailey and Heidi went out with Dad on the canoe.  It was beautiful!  The next morning a little boy caught a fish and everyone was very excited.  The girls went out on the paddle boat with some of the older boys and when they got back we learned that Heidi didn't have a life jacket on.  Super scary. The girls were so excited to make some friends!  We were too.  It's too bad that it was the weekend befor...

Dance class...or not

The last Wednesday before school started, August 15th, we decided to have one more day at Grammy's house with the cousins. Brynlee wore her outfit from Curtis and Julia.  She obviously loved it.  Heidi loves being a big sister and holding Brynlee.  Cougar had fun with Brandon and enjoyed being pushed around in a chip box. We hurried from Grammy's house to get home and grab some food before Heidi and Hailey had their first ever dance class.  They were so excited!  Unfortunately the teacher was not in town yet, so they had to push back the start date 12 days.  That's a long time for some pretty excited kids. Heidi wanted a picture in front of the building.   We passed this building while coming home from the store today and Cougar said, "Dance class building."  Pretty impressive since the last class was over a month ago.  This boy sure knows his cars and buildings. They were so sad.  So I took them to the park just a ...

Riley's Home and a swim party

Justin's cousin Riley got home from his mission so we took a little trip up to Logan to hear him speak in church. His talk was excellent and it sounds like he was a wonderful missionary.  We were there to see him off two years ago and now we're back and it's crazy all that's happened in those two years.  There was a little luncheon before the meeting and all the kids gravitated toward Uncle Lee.  It was really cute.  Brynlee looked super cute in her dress that day.  I was holding her and some of the family from across the room said, "Now that baby is a Weidman."  I took a picture of Justin and Riley since Terri isn't there to take pictures I had to make sure that someone did.  Then Heidi wanted to take a picture.  After that Hailey decided she wanted to take a picture of the rest of us.  I think Cougar was trying to figure out who Riley was.  And now Riley is engaged and is getting married in a few weeks! The next day our ...

Olympic Day

We got an email saying August 11th would be Cosmo's Kids Club Olympics.  We were super excited! It was probably even more fun than we thought it would be.  There were quite a few kids there, and it was fun to see everyone wearing BYU clothes.  They were taught how to throw the shot put and do the long jump.  They jumped many times. They threw the javelin and the discus, and even did the high jump. Cougar mostly stayed by me and Brynlee was a nice girl and slept in the Snugli for most of it. Cosmo was there!  We love Cosmo! They got to do the hurdles.  I love this picture of the 3 of them running.  Heidi was way ahead because she was on the smaller hurdles. They even got to set up like they were really doing a race.  They had them sit there for a long time and I think Hailey got sick of it and just stood up waiting for the race to start.  Cougar got down right by Heidi to do some running too.     A...

Last Summer Movie

The kids love going to the summer movies because it is the only time they have ever been in a movie theater. We went to our last one this year, Yogi Bear.  Hailey wore her favorite outfit and wanted to pose in it.  We took a picture out by the rocks at the theater. After the movie we headed over to Grammy's to play on the slip 'n slide.  The kids had a blast.  This was the most Heidi has ever gone on it.  After watching Heidi, Cougar decided he would go for it.  He ended up flat on his back with water spraying in his face and that was the end of it for him.  Hailey mostly walked along it and then sat in the little pool of water at the end. Heidi and Hailey love jumping on the trampoline.  They are so cute and even like to help each other.  Heidi was just jumping around and was doing really well.  I asked her to do a toe touch and she brought her legs straight in front of her and touched her toes, like a pike.  I tried t...

Sister's Day and GNO

Ever since Mother's Day and Father's Day last year, the girls have been asking me when Sister's Day is.  I told myself I would just come up with a day and do it.  Well, this Mother's Day and Father's Day came and they again asked when Sister's Day was.  I put it off a little longer, and then one day I was checking my national holidays on punchbowl.com and it came up that August 5th was Sister's Day!  I had no idea there really was one, we were just going to do it for fun. But now we know that it's supposed to be the first Sunday in August to celebrate having or being a sister. The girls were so excited to have breakfast in bed, just like Mom and Dad get to on Mother's Day and Father's Day.  Heidi was kind of tired at first, but then was really excited.  They both thought they wanted breakfast in bed, but decided they actually wanted to eat it at the counter.  I had to get up pretty early to do this since they usually wake up really early, bu...
